Our History

“We believe access to nutritious food
is a basic human right.”

Where it all Began

2000

In 2006, Mt. Prospect Baptist Church started a clothing ministry, but later saw the need to provide canned goods. As the demand increased, more nutritious foods were purchased from local retail stores. Covenant Presbyterian Church supplied additional food with donations from a local Food Lion.

2000

In 2014, a partnership agreement was made with Second Harvest Food Bank Metrolina that provided fresh produce, meat, cereal and canned foods for Mt. Prospect’s pantry ministry.

2000

In 2017, to broaden the reach of The Manna House pantry, the ministry became a separate arm of the church. It was incorporated as The Manna House Pantry, and is an 501C3 non-profit organization.

2000

In 2019, we partnered with Pathways Community Center to meet the increasing demand for food assistance, and to better serve our community into  what is now a 6000 square foot facility.
